Colorwork Mittens & Cowl

Okay, I don’t know why I fell off writing this blog/following other blogs. I think I just started to overwhelm myself with hobbies, and I get a bit of creative ADD and have been doing more drawing and such lately rather than knitting. It may also have something to do with the fact that it’s been somewhat warm and I have a harder time picking up the needles when it’s hot outside. I know, for shame! Also, might be because I am currently working on a wool afghan for my mum. I started it back in January I think and it’s a little over halfway done, so I haven’t picked up anything else until it’s finished. And I promised not to go on Ravelry or Craftsy so as not to tempt myself. So, it may be that I don’t do another post until that day happens. Which currently feels like it’s very far away.

But, for now, I want to share with you the mittens I made a few weeks ago. My sister got some good use out of these last weekend when she went to CT. Because there, it was snowing, and not 90 degrees. Is there a happy medium somewhere? Well, she was grateful for them. And I even managed to try colorwork! Thanks to a Craftsy class. With it being explained in good detail, I was able to get a good end result, I think.

Colorwork Norwegian Style Mittens!

Speaking of Colorwork, here’s an old piece I did a few years ago, which turned out great, but I think if it hadn’t call to be sewn together to make it reversible, the wrong side would look like a mess of spaghetti. I learned so much from taking the above class, I’m really excited to try more than two colors…

I think the pattern was from a Knitscene Accessories. Well, anyway, fair warning, you may not hear from me for a while, but don’t worry, I’m not dead, I’m just knitting an afghan. Or drawing something instead…
